College Daze event permits and venues is part of the larger story of how College Daze turns HBCU student culture into creative infrastructure.
We will call him Not Ryan G.
He presented himself as someone who could secure venues and handle permits, supported by stories about his father’s club business in Miami. We trusted the promise. Later, we learned the permits were not in place, and the attention put Daze on the city’s radar.
The mistake was ours to own: we accepted confidence where we needed written verification. A name, a connection, or a convincing story cannot replace a permit number, a signed responsibility matrix, and direct confirmation with the issuing authority.
The unexpected result was a relationship. Because the city came to know us, we eventually had the opportunity to work with officials on standard operating procedures. Saint learned to ask for receipts. Daisy learned that trust needs structure. B-Loved learned that a painful introduction can become a professional foundation—if you respond with accountability.
