When Red Bull Put an HBCU Rager on the Map

The College Daze x Red Bull Mind the Gap HBCU rager connected campus energy, skate culture and a global brand without asking the culture to shrink.

Leche Magazine later described the collaboration as a Red Bull-sponsored HBCU rager that generated news coverage and work for a local Black skate collective. Knoc Flip won the competition. An opportunity involving Europe was discussed, but we are not claiming a trip we cannot confirm.

College Daze’s role in the Red Bull collaboration

Red Bull brought reach, resources and the competition platform. College Daze brought cultural context, promotion, community trust and the ability to make the event feel native to an HBCU audience.

The best brand collaborations do not place a logo on top of a community. They fund what is already alive. Saint learned that partnership is translation. Daisy learned that student culture can meet a global company without becoming generic. B-Loved learned to ask: what does the investment unlock for the people already doing the work?

Why the collaboration mattered

The rager showed that College Daze could function as more than an event promoter. We could connect brands, emerging creatives and local cultural communities through an experience people actually wanted to attend.
